I was thinking about all the people who will soon be moving into their new jobs in the Obama administration, and recalled the opening lines of Richard N. Haass's book The Bureaucratic Entrepreneur:

You have just had your second cup of coffee. Your pencils are sharpened; your legal pad is at the ready. You may figured out how to log onto your new computer and done so. You glance at your watch; too soon to start thinking about lunch. You want to succeeed; but you are not quite sure what it will take. To be honest, you are not quite sure how to define success.

Sound familiar?"

So to all the new appointees: Good luck!

Change your theory Mate!

If you want to be in the business;

Change your theory.
Compose a Thought Experiment assuming a different Constitution. BTW, have your heard what Obama said;->
"We are a nation of Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus and Non-believers (he means secularists)."
But he forgot to add his historic statement;->
"And some how Our Constitution (which I just sweared on calling the God (or a god, say Jupiter!) as witness) allows only Secularists to make laws and impose them to Christiasn, Muslims, Jews and Himdus - that is not fair! Those guys should be allowed to make their own laws and implement them to their members and don't impose them to each other like the Secularists do at present, under the protection of the Constitution of the US."

Stephen! Invest on this speech Mate!
You will immediately get a job, I bet on that;->>
I won't wish you "good luck" because there is no room to luck on my suggestion;->

34th US President IKE suspended AID TO ISRAEL

...Or "Simply" STUDY "the past" such as Ike's Foreign Policy, which made "NO WAR" possible from 1957 to 1967 - TEN YEARS! a WHOLE DECADE...!

“Ike” = Dwight David Eisenhower American general & the 34th President of the United States (1953-1961). As far as WAR & PEACE issues; IKE had the richest experience of all US presidents!

In WWII he was the commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force (1943-1945) he launched the invasion of Normandy (June 6, 1944) and oversaw the final defeat of Germany (1945).

Ike cared about the STRATEGIC WELL BEING of Israel because HE was aware that the creation of Israel was the ultimate answer to European anti-Antisemitism.

On October 31, 1956 Ike’s presidency was marked by SUSPENSION OF US AID to ISRAEL in protest at its invasion of Egypt in the Suez Crisis.

In an emergency session of the United Nations (UN) November 1-2 1956 General Assembly was called to consider the Suez Crisis. U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE John Foster DULLES, ATTACKED the British–French–Israeli ACTION, and the Assembly votes for a cease-fire!

Britain & France complied promptly, but ISRAEL did not; until January 22, 1957 when Israeli forces completed their withdrawal.

However it is closed I have questions - if you please

to qualify as part of the lobby one had to "actively work" to strengthen and defend the "special relationship" of nearly-unconditional support that now exists between the U.S. and Israel

Suppose what you calim is correct, it is real,
I don't understand what are you trying to critisize here:

Are you trying to say that there is a loophole in the Constitution of the US which allows some lobies "actively work to strenthen and defend the special relationship of nearly un-conditional support between the US and another state" that has to be closed by change of the Constitution of the US?

Are you suggesting that this is already against the Constitution of the US so that the loby and the related US leadership should be sued by the Justice system taking legalry action?

Or this has nothing to do with the Constitution of the US (at least yet) but you are just talking to make the public conscious of such actions taking place so that they have to form their opinion and create pressure groups to stop such actions, kind of shaping the Constitution of the US, is that it?
what is your aim, what do you want to achieve by disclosing such a reality?

Response

To the contrary I don't think Prof Walt and Mearsheimer ever try to make the point that there is any thing unconstitutional about the Israel lobby, in fact they say it is part of the American politics that has existed for ages. The issue that Prof Walt raises is whether the lobby advocates policies that are in America's national interest or contrary to America's interest.
By bringing this topic into the mainstream by writing the book, there can perhaps be some debate on our Mideast policy instead of formulating and implementing policy with out question.

Okey, I reformulate my question:
suppose Israel Lobby's policies are "advocating policies contrary to the National Interests of the US";
Is this a crime according to the Constitution?

(I hope you don't say that "American National interests has nothing to do with the Constutution of the US, it is just a term of SATFP to explain slresdy become history FP phenomena";->)

Constitution

Well I am not a constitutional lawyer, but I think the constitution deals with individual rights, states rights and the responsibilities of the federal govt. It also deals with the separation of powers of the different branches of govt. It lays out the checks and balances, and lobbying itself is protected by the constitution as a first amendment right to free speech. But I don't think it is okay for lobbies to push for the interests of other nations at the expense of the home country. As for what the constitution says on lobbying for the interests of foreign nations I don't know.

Well then Ahmed, it is high

Well then Ahmed, it is high time for you to read and understand your constitution because as a citizen you promise (swear on it) to organize your life according to it.Obama's refreshing his oath on it was just because he is taking another role as a citizen of the US - the presidency role. You wouldn't sign a contract without fully understand it would you? Although you are born as citizen they don't ask you to swear when you reach tha age of vote-giver or tax-payer they just assume that you have already accepted by birth what is dictated in the constitution. That is not fair but what can you do? You have no other choice, for example you don't have a choce of several cosntitutions. let's say Christians have their constitution, Jews have theirs, Muslims, Hindus, Red Indians, Black Americans etc have theirs. No! you don't have that kuxury of choice of constitutions;-> You have one choice, if you call it a choice : the secularo-fascist constitution composed hundreds of years back by a bunch of secularo-fascists of one law, one state, one leadership, one land. And guess what, they push it to you saying "you have freedom of choice in your land (accept laws but they don't tell you this), this is the land of democracy, human rights, you name it what...", but well you can't have more than one choice in every occasion can you?, so bear it as it is. Welcome to our world Bebe Ahmed;->> Now we will baptize you with this holy Constitution.
After all your efforts to understand your constitution, if you still have some questions, you can always consult your lawyer(s) about what are your real rights in between those jungle of articles;->If you listen to me, don't take any action before you know what you have signed under otherwise you may get excommunicated by ignorance;->>If I were in your boots I would hire a Jewish Lawyer for this job, especially one of those somehow related to Israel Lobby, those guys/dalls know what they are doing while the rest is sleep-walking, except maybe S.M.Walt who is just waking up confused;->(BTW, are you his site-kick, if so tell him my "excommunicated by ignorance" part, he would realize what I meanand may even explain it to you how it feels. Also tell him I suggest he join Israel Lobby to be able to see state of affairs from inside out;->>)

You may ask: "Why do they do that to me?"
The answer might be : "They can't bear multiplicity, they are dedicated to reduce (assimilate), crush all multiplicity to singularity. They think that way it is easier to dominate."
My question here is : "How long this domination (Sultanate) will last?" That is what I am watching;->>
And as you see, all the talks here is geared up to save this Constitution with the on ground support of Obama the President of the USA.
Who would spare a minute to give heed what I am saying here Mate?! Who? They are all busy to Salvare Apparentias.

There's a very simple way to

There's a very simple way to answer your critics and make sure they take your scholarship seriously.

Do your next work on the influence of the Arab lobby.

Our tax money goes to defending these regimes, to the point that we had bases in Saudi Arabia, and other Arab states, and we went to war to defend Kuwait.

Since you seem to be into thought experiments, here's one:

Imagine if 19 Israelis flew planes into the WTC and then our president soon after was famously pictured holding hands with their head of state. And then our president announced a doctrine by which we could consider states that provide support and assistance to terrorists the same as the terrorists themselves. And there was clear evidence that Israel was providing support for terrorists. But there was no response from us regarding this matter with Israel. In fact, nothing changed at all in our relations. Instead, we went to war with two other countries, one of which was one of their traditional enemies, Saddam Hussein. You'd probably have something to say about that, right?

And all those millions of dollars that magically end up in our ex-president's coffers from the Arab states soon after they leave their jobs, that's got to mean something, right? What are those payments all about? I mean, I'd love the chance to hear Clinton give a talk, but I'm certainly not going to pay him a couple million for a half-hour speech.

And, lastly, why are we not yet, at this late date, all driving hybrid/electric cars?

Such a work would effectively defuse any slanders of anti-semitism against you.

All palestinians to return home and have a vote

As a representative from the free world, more specific Denmark - with virtually no Israel Lobby, because they concentrate on Israels only ally on the face of the Earth - it is a pleasure for me, to have this opportunity to share my views on Israel/Palestine with my in this regard - unfortunately, less informed American friends.

If and when the American public gets as informed, I have no doubt they will act forcefully and determined, to put an end to what is in effect the worlds last colony - set up in somebodys elses country, in the middle of Arabia, no less!

A country with an inhabitable square-area somewhere between Delaware and Yellowstone National Park with the worlds fourth largest stockpile of nuclear weapons - well if that aint nuts.....what is?

The way this should be brought about is by allowing all palestinians and their descendants to return back to the land they are named after, and thereupon have a vote, about how they wish to be governed. You cannot have it more democratic than that! One man, one vote. If the current masters in The Holy Land will not allow this, then America should flex it muscles, by holding back its 3 billion taxpayers money a year, and a worldwide ban of all landing rights for Israels crafts could follow, until it complies.

The transformation to the eventual arab majority rule - where any jew who so wishes can stay put, just like the Whites can stay in South Africa after the end of Apartheid in 1994- should be overseen by the International community, and Israels terrible weapons should be transferred to the US for scrapping, just like South Africas nuclear programme was given up and Ukraine's nuclear weapons transferred to Russia in the beginning of the 1990'ties.

This is the wish of the majority of the worlds peoples, - who often themselves have grave experiences with colonialism. Americas support for the colony in Arabia is a serious anormaly for the country whose ideals helped bring an end to colonialism, and it is my hope that America under Præsident Obama, will bring about a correction of this historic mistake.

A photo that says it all

Watch this photo from Obamas official photographer, Pete Souza!

http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/xo7ERIcUyco/President+Barack+Obama+First+Day+White+House/J4K_yRQjVpp/Rahm+Emanuel

All Negroes, like for instance William Henry Cosby Jr., Ed.D (Bill Cosby) cannot hide their feelings, and this is just what make them so wonderful. In this masterly photo taken by the experienced and aclaimed Pete Souza, you see Obama wondering, what exactly Rahm Emanuel is doing, why is he there?

He is there due to a pledge made to affluent members to the Jewish community, in exchange for their donations to the Obama Presidential Campaign - and in this way, this incident serves as a constant reminder of the big flaws of American democracy, and the way that un-elected individuals shapes the implementation of key policies.

Make no mistake about it! Emanuel and Hillary are there in order to ensure, that Obama do not get any fancy ideas, - like proposing the return for all palestinian refugees and their descendants - back to the land they are named after, for instance.
